in India will be celebrated on Wednesday, 16 September. Vishwakarma Puja falls on the last day of the Bhadra which is also known as Bhadra Sankranti or Kanya Sankranti. On the day of Vishwakarma Puja, also known as 

Vishwakarma Jayanti

, the Hindu devotees worship Lord Vishwakarma who is the divine architect.

As per Hindu religious beliefs, the Lord Vishwakarma constructed the holy city of Dwarka where Krishna ruled, the Maya Sabha of the Pandavas, and was the creator of many fabulous weapons for the gods. In the Rig Veda, he is mentioned as the divine carpenter and is credited with Sthapatya Veda, the science of mechanics and architecture

The festival of Vishwakarma Puja is observed primarily in factories and industrial areas, often on the shop floor. The festival is celebrated by engineers, architects, artisans, craftsmen, mechanics, smiths, welders, industrial workers, factory workers and others. 

Vishwakarma puja

is also celebrated a day after Diwali, along with Govardhan Puja in October–November.
